Initial Oral Examination

Your first visit to our office is an important step in understanding and protecting your periodontal health. During this comprehensive appointment, Dr. Baine will take the time to get to know you and assess the overall condition of your gums, teeth, and oral structures. This includes a full periodontal evaluation to check for signs of gum disease, measurements of pocket depths around the teeth, and an assessment of gum recession or inflammation.

Dr. Baine will also perform an analysis of your occlusion, or how your teeth come together when you bite, which is an essential factor in identifying issues that may contribute to tooth wear, jaw discomfort, or gum damage. In addition, a thorough examination of your teeth and their supporting structures—such as the bone and connective tissue—will be conducted to establish a detailed baseline for your oral health. This allows us to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and ensures the best possible outcomes for long-term periodontal health.
